Toddler Sleep Study & Specialist Visits

Doodlebug had another overnight sleep study to check on her progress after her cleft palate repair.  Due to unforeseen circumstances, the evaluation got pushed out to over a year from her last sleep study.  So this was going to be our first toddler sleep study! I wasn’t sure what to expect since the last sleep study was performed right after she turned one year old.  Plus, I was anxious for this time around because there had been significant changes in her sleep and behavior since then.  And I just knew she was still having breathing issues while she slept. *Ugh!* For the full story on why we were having the…

    Memorial Day: Remembering the Fallen

I feel like as a nation, we’ve become pretty numb to the true meaning of  Memorial Day.  It’s not just a holiday that the kids get out of school for, or a holiday that gets us a long weekend away from work.  But, in fact, Memorial Day is a day designated to remember the fallen service men and women of our country. DIY Natural Kitchen Cleaner

Over the last few of years, our family has been shifting towards a more non-toxic lifestyle.  This simply means we are choosing more natural products for our home and our bodies, and being more mindful of our food choices. The biggest area of toxins in our home was cleaners. (Of course, right?)  And I am constantly looking for ways to make or use a healthier alternative to an abrasive store-bought cleaner. One of the very first products I set out to overhaul were the sprays and wipes we always used in the kitchen.  I mean, think about it, those harsh chemicals are being used around our food!  So I absolutely…

    Easy & Healthy Homemade Granola

We eat a lot of granola in our house.  And if you are anything like me, it makes you almost physically sick to spend upwards of $5 on a bag of the store bought kind. Yes, it looks yummy sitting on the grocery store shelves, but who the heck even knows what’s in it!  (Any label readers out there?!)  Now, don’t get me wrong, I have been totally guilty of spending way too much money on those sweet, crunchy bags of deliciousness.  But making granola at home is seriously so easy and MUCH cheaper.  Plus, I know 100% what’s going into my body when I eat it.     With…
